本数据以区域植被为对象,研究区域植被现状与分布。利用80年代中期、90年代初期TM、MSS卫片等不同尺度遥感影像,以及研究所积累的各种电子地理数据文件,构建新疆生态本底数据库,丰富、直观的反映了新疆的1:400万植被基本自然资源情况,数据覆盖全疆区域,以兰勃特等面积圆锥投影方式得到。

论文题目:Climate and topography jointly drive the vegetation greening in central Eurasian grasslands
数据在研究中的作用:Despite the extensive research conducted on climate’s significant impact on grasslands and how topography often has non-legible effects on grassland vegetation by altering local soil moisture or habitat temperature, the relative influence of climate and topography on vegetation remains largely unclear, especially in native grassland. We explored the vegetation greening pattern across different topographies in Xinjiang, a central Eurasian grassland, using MODIS Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data from 2000 to 2021. In our long-term observational experiment, we monitored climate factors (annual precipitation, AP; annual mean temperature, AMT; relative humidity, RH) and topography (elevation, ELE; aspect, ASP; topographic position index, TPI) to study their effects on grassland NDVI. We used Hierarchical Partitioning and Multi-Model Inference to assess the interactions between climate and topography across the region. Over the past 21 years, despite rising temperatures and precipitation levels, and although NDVI showed significant relationships with ASP and TPI, these did not make it to the final model. Climate factors had a greater influence on NDVI than topography. The combined effect of AP, AMT, and RH accounted for 41.62% of NDVI variations, while ELE only accounted for 14.99%. Importantly, despite of the statistical significance of four predictors, NDVI was more influenced by the interaction of climate and topography. The selected interaction variables (RH × ELE, AP × ELE, and AP × AMT) explained 43.45% of the grassland's NDVI, with RH × ELE being the most explanatory (23.21%). In conclusion, our study provides experimental evidence that climate and topography independently and interactively contribute to vegetation greening. It's critical to comprehend how vegetation feedback will evolve in future scenarios to enhance predictions of Earth's climate. Our results highlight the importance of the vegetation-climate-topography feedback loop and will contribute to creating more comprehensive and efficient climate mitigation and adaptation tactics.
